Playing Catch up...

for my lack of posting on here lately.  I could tell you I'm running around like a chicken with my head cut off - and that would be partially true...but in all honesty my lack of blogginess ( Is that even a word) has been from pure laziness.  I seem to be lacking some "umph" lately that is required to get things accomplished other than the necessities.  So with my absence of late I will bring you a mish mash of whats been happening with me lately...

1)  On top of my priority list and taking up most of my spare time and thoughts are still the house reno's.  All of the deciding, ordering, research, and clean up is enough to drive me crazy...and Im not even the one actually doing any of the work.  The mason has left and replaced all of the brick on the house with natural stone (Owen sound ledge rock) It is absolutely gorgeous.  Our windows are in and I can open them now with out busting a gut like the old ones.  Now to order blinds, trim them up, paint the trim ( and baseboard while I have my brush out)  and clean them before the Christmas season begins - all in my spare time of course.  We still have to side the place still - and replace the soffit, eaves etc...oh and put on a door handle...right now we have to door screwed shut....it will get finished but we will see if Mother nature is good to us or if we clean everything up and live in a half done house for spring...sigh.

2)  At least our torn apart house looked the part when it came to Halloween night.  To me its the scariest site in the neighborhood...but that didn't stop Jared from still wanting to decorate for his favourite holiday of the year...hmmm...it couldn't have anything to do  with all of the candy he gets...I wonder?!?!? 

 

Halloween left me feeling a bit down this year....my boys are growing up and they both went out with their friends..sans mom...another indication that I need to get a grip on this Independence thing....  Blake in his "I'm a teenager now" attitude went out as a skateboarder - you know the type of costume I mean - I need to wear something cause I'm still a kid at heart that wants to trick or treat - but Im way to cool to actually dress up kind of costume.LOL.  So he put on his everyday attire - accept his brother let him wear his skinny jeans ( and man were they skinny - but oh so cool I'm told) and mom took out her makeup with a bit of coloured hairspray from our costume stash.  with his skateboard at his side he was all set....

and with Jared...I broke all of my rules and yes I let him wear a mask this year...he was a scary granny.  How silly did I feel when checking out of Walmart the lady remarks - yep its that time of year again for cozy comfy pj's!  ( Well first off - I know Im 40 now but excuse me - these are the type of pj's that my grandma wears - NOT me!!  Talk about a self confidence boost!!) I was going to proceed to tell her that I will actually be cutting them up, rubbing them around in the garden and pouring blood all over them in a few hours - but she may have looked at me strange so I decided to keep quiet. Here are some photo's of Jared and with his friends - whom he went out with...with their father I might add...I guess I've been bumped...every year since we have been here all of the neighbourhood kids go out together - we fill our coffee mugs with "special" coffee and we make a night of it.  Seems to me like those days are gone ...Dad has up'd his cool ratio while dear old mom has been demoted to just costume purchaser...sigh.

 

 

3)  Football Season has come to a close!!  YIPPEE!!!  Ok that was a bit mean but my goodness it completely took over this house for a long time.  3 practices a week and a game are way to much to juggle - it would be ok if you didn't have other things going on but combining this with baseball at the beginning of the season, as well as music classes, enhanced by the fact that we had early morning practice Sat and Early games on Sunday...I felt like we were never together anymore.  I finally went out and stocked up on groceries the other day cause when did we ever have time to sit down and eat as a family....all I can say is Im really glad its over.  I feel like our life spiraled out of control with all that was required of this sport. Jared did enjoy it...but In all honesty I know that his father enjoyed coaching it way more...I think there was a little youth reliving during the past few months.  Next year will hopefully be much better...at least I know what to expect.  And maybe they will have made up their minds by then whether or not Jared is better for offense or defense....I am hoping they will give him a position and let him excel at it..instead of this placing him wherever they need muscle.  Anyway here is a photo of him at his last game...gosh it was freezing!!!

4) Now on to some fun stuff...scrapping.  I managed to clean up my room after the bomb that exploded during the Revive and Rejuvenate crop over at Just Cre8.  Once it was all shiny clean I messed it up again with a little layout for Collage Press.  They will be having Designer days over on their blog on the 15th and 30th of the month where you can see some amazing talented ladies show off this beautiful product.  Here is my layout for this month.

 

 

 

 

In other scrappy news...with no commitments due yesterday and a clean house - I decided to scrap some stuff for myself and started Ali Edwards 25 days until Christmas album...this is going to be so much fun.  I have set up some threads over at Just Cre8 as well if you want to join me and share your own creations.  I am done up to page 19 - will post them all when Im done.  I hope to have it completed in the next few days or so...but if not I'm in for a scrappy good time this weekend when I will be visiting my friend Sue up in Windsor and {Just Amanda} and her mom will be flying in from Saskatchewan!!  I also hope to meet up with some other girls from the board..YAHOO this is going to be so much fun!!

So that post sure was long eh??  I still have some more stuff to share ( like getting around to posting my RAK winner) and I promise I will...but for now a big ole plate of Homemade Spaghetti and Meatballs is calling my name at my in laws house...oh...and I hope some photo ops too!!
