Momenta Projects and a special thanks....

Well if any of you remember a few months ago I was very excited to be chosen to be a part of the Momenta Design Team.  You can see my announcement here.

Unfortunately it was just after that that my father in law took sick and everything was in upheaval for me and my family.  Looking back now it all seems like a dream and daily I still can't believe how the events turned out....

I have tried to keep in touch with my team mates and with Momenta at every opportunity.  I realized then and also now that the timing was really rotten.  My mind was everywhere and anywhere - but certainly not on scrapbooking and I apologized as much as I could for my lack of participation.  I am VERY THANK-FULL and lucky that I am part of an amazing group of ladies who understood my situation and gave me the time I needed to be with my family.... so thank you once again for your patience - I appreciate it.

SO - I finally got the opportunity to play a bit with their product the other day and my first blog post went live.  It felt good to create again.  I first thought I would whip up a few cards - but I ended up creating 6 cards in a few hours - it felt so good to get lost in creativity once again... true therapy!

For the following cards I pulled out my Simply Perfect Page Kit (PK-2045) which is a prepackaged kit that includes 6 sheets of 12 x 12 pattern papers, phrase and alphabet stickers, frames and tags, and dimensional stickers! It is put altogether for you by Momenta - to help make a quick and easy page for your scrapbooks - but why not use it in a different way other than intended? I love that what some people may look at this kit and think to themselves.... I have no photo's that will match this paper... but you need to look outside of the norm here and think of other uses. These page kits are great for doing altered projects, or even mini albums, since everything is already matching and coordinated... so half of the work is already done. Stress less scrapbooking... you can sit and create and not have to think of whether it goes together!! Perfect!!

More SEI love to share....

Hello everyone - hope your all enjoying your weekend.  This afternoon I had the most wonderful day... spent it with my good friend Lee... eating a delicious lunch... talking about everything and anything... laughing... and just relaxing.  It was perfect, fun, and JUST what I needed!!  

I came home from our hours of visiting and felt creative - and I put the finishing touches on a project that will be coming up on the SEI blog next week!  It felt fantastic to create again!!

The last few weeks have been overwhelming with sadness - and as you all know I have been putting my creativity on the back burner.... but I have also come to the realization that I NEED to be creative to feel complete.  Sure sometimes the mojo leaves... any artist will never feel creative ALL the time... but if your patient enough... it will come back.

Here is a little peak of a mini album I made using SEI's "I'm an Athlete" line.  I started with something different in mind but it took on a life of its own and I am thrilled with how it turnd out - and the best part is my youngest loves it too!!

While loading this image I also found some cards done previously for SEI that I somehow forgot to load onto here to share with you all.  These cards are simple and some of my favourite's using While Elegance papers and Die Cuts.

The call for the new Design Team for SEI ended tonight - and I am so excited to see who is on the team next year!  Good luck to everyone who applied - it is a fabulous company to design for and it has been an honour to be a part of the Design Team for the past year. 

 

For the Luv of Art...

Awhile back I stumbled accross the relatively new site For the Luv or Art  and joined. Loved the atmosphere, some of my favourite scappers are on the DT there so I joined and that was about it.  While I always lurked and peeked in every once in awhile I have been joining in on their fun more now and am really enjoying it! 

How happy was I to be chosen as their Friday Member of the Week!!  That was a great surpise as the talent is quite amazing there....You can see it on their BLOG post HERE.

One of the DT members had a little colour challenge for WCMD which I decided to participate in....We were to use these colours:

And although the blues are a bit off (honestly I had nothing in my stash...GASP!!) So I pulled out some of my Cosmo Cricket and started playing -  this is the card I came up with!
